Day Eleven:

I got up at about 5 am, made coffee and read the news. Everything was about the same, except for the growing number of virus cases.

I downloaded a poster app from google and made a letter sized card for Erin’s birthday. I thought it turned out okay. I taped it to the mirror in the upstairs bathroom. I then made two happy birthday letter sized posters, one with our daughter Jessica with our granddaughter Ray, and another with Erin’s best friend and her daughter with Erin and the grand-baby.

When Erin got up I had everything ready, per her request, to make pancakes for her birthday.Yesterday Erin had made her own birthday cake. I was to decorate it, I found some cookie decorating pouches in the cupboard and wrote happy birthday on the cake. It was kind of sloppy but it would work, I put Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups on top and put it in the fridge.

We went for our walk which Erin wanted to be longer than usual for her birthday, we walked over four miles, it felt great. I used to walk about four to five miles a day at work, and I always said that I needed to keep up the walking when I retired. Well so far so good, I really enjoy the exercise each day. Erin helps me keep on track with the walking, because there is never enough of it for her. She was a runner, now a walker, it is something she has done almost every day since long before we met. Even when things aren’t quite right with her physically she gets her exercise. She has the stamina of a true athlete.

When we got home we made the pancakes. Erin made the batter, I made the cakes. They were really good. If we had these all the time I would gain a hundred pounds and get diabetes. We have had them twice now since shelter-in place started. Before all this we might have them once or twice a year. I guess we can call it comfort food, for stressful times, ha ha.

I got a call from SSA. They just wanted to confirm that I wanted my Part B to begin on April 1st, I said yes and the man said the card would be sent out soon. Very cool! I checked the Cobra website and everything was moving along well.

Dinnertime came and I grilled hot dogs and buns, laid out all the fixins, and we ate dogs and had her Birthday Cake for dessert. Both were great, except the buns, which were gluten-free.

We continued our evening and eventually hit the sack...
