Day Seven:
I got up at about 4 am, made coffee, checked the news, and went right to work on the website.
Erin got up and we left even earlier today for our walk. It was colder than yesterday, the temperature was the same, but the wind was blowing. We walked around the back of the complex and out to a side street. As we walked down the sidewalk, we came to about six segments of the concrete that were chalked in with designs and some writing, obviously done by children. We thought it was a great way for kids to get out some of their energy and creativity on a very quiet side street. We did our three laps of the track and came home.
No big breakfast this morning, I had oatmeal.
Erin was going to make spaghetti with meatballs tonight so I got out some turkey-burger to let it thaw. Erin crushed up pretzels to mix with the meat, and we went on to other things.
Today was supposed to be the day we would get my check and paperwork for our cobra from my work. It didn’t come and it frustrated both of us. I can’t believe my company would end our medical coverage in seven days leaving us no time to get our new insurance. I’m really pissed at them, I understand them cutting back, but I don’t understand them leaving us absolutely no time to take care of transferring our medical.
Erin tried repeatedly to call Cover California, either the phone would go dead or when she got to the phone tree she couldn’t get though to anyone. By checking things as best she could online she came to the conclusion that her health insurance was just going to be expensive.
Both of us had to just let things go for now, this is very, very frustrating to both of us.
I called my son James in New York, my cousin Bill in Seattle, and my cousin Vivian in Sonora. They were all doing well. Thank the Powers for that.
Erin and I did our own things and went to bed…
